"I want my paintings to take you far away from the entanglements of daily life, to the places where silence still reigns, save for the calls of sandhill cranes, or the eerie notes of new ice forming on a winter pond. I want them to take you to where the distant horizon marks the boundary between the seen and the unseen."

A summer spent doing research working on her Master’s Degree in Northeastern Utah convinced Linda that she wanted more than anything to paint the great open landscapes of the West. Living in Laramie, Wyoming provides unlimited opportunities to see and paint the high, open country she loves. She also paints Yellowstone National Park. The steaming pools and mats of colorful, hot-water life forms offer a glimpse of the powerful forces of nature that lie just beneath the surface of our world.
